In direct fix cladding applications where the cladding reduces the drainage and drying capability of the product, an external drainage cavity is recommended using Ametalin Cavity Drainage Battens™ (10 mm) or ThermalCav™ Drainage Battens (20mm). Non-absorbent claddings such as steel, adequate drainage must be provided.
VapourTech® Brane® VHP should not be used in direct contact with LOSP, organic solvent or oil based treated timbers. Separation from these components is required or alternative pliable building membranes investigated and specified such as Ametalin CeaseFire®.
Blackbutt, Blackwood, Ironbark, Jarrah, Merbau, and Spotted Gum timber cladding among others, known for their high tannin content, natural faults and borer holes, have tendencies to leach and leak in conditions of very high humidity and /or prolonged water exposure. All direct to stud applications of the above treated timbers should be avoided therefore it is recommended that VapourTech® Brane® VHP should be separated by the incorporation of an external drainage cavity. and cladding placed on non-reactive battens to the external side of VapourTech® Brane® VHP.
