Wet Tropics

Wet Tropics

This region roughly corresponds to NCC/BCA Climate Zone 1 and contains the capital city of Darwin, as well as the population centres of North Queensland. The vapour drive is inward.

External Wall Wraps for the Wet Tropics (vapour drive inward) are selected based on vapour barrier performance, with the highest vapour resistance preferred.

Condensation Risk in Walls – Hygrothermal Analysis

Interpreting condensation risk

When the temperature is lower than the dew point condensation will form. When the Temperature profile and Dew Point lines intersect this is the location point of the condensation in the wall.

Temperature Profile Dew Point

Blue line indicates the temperature profile, red line indicates the dew point profile. The red line crossing the blue line indicates the location of condensation risk.
